Disc brakes front and rear give positive braking performance with ease of maintenance whilst a modern wide-ration 2 x 8 speed Shimano gearing system gives the range of gear ratios for widely varying terrain and conditions, whether pootling along the towpath or exploring twisting forest tracks.
